It is a good post, and I'd been thinking something along those lines. But the truth is that the administration has intentionally downplayed injuries to troops, and has tried to minimize coverage of casualties in order to avoid the further erosion of support for the war. The media are complicit in this, but I think it is one of the factors in why this incident got so much coverage.
Yep. Not to diminish the gravity of Woodruff's situation, but it is kind of sickening, isn't it?
