[from Muddy Prints, Water Shine]

Lake Sunset

A Canada goose
feels its double unfold;
gray wings burn gold.

A cloud camel
inverts to ice cream cones
strung from ribbons.

Gusts high and low
remodel a range of dunes
into orange begging bowls and then

blues dim,
mirrors unsilver,
and the goose swims alone.
